Long before the issue became topical, Astaé’s lawyers were already working passionately on discrimination cases brought to them, regardless of the grounds for discrimination. As a result, the firm has achieved significant successes for female executives who were not reinstated to their positions after returning from maternity leave, for homosexual executives who encountered a glass ceiling, and for senior executives who were made to understand that they were too old to have a future in the company.
It was also the issue of discrimination that led Astaé’s lawyers to represent the interests of female partners who were discriminated against by the firms where they worked.
Another area in which Astaé’s lawyers have been particularly pioneering is moral harassment. Their work on the concept of moral harassment has been widely recognized and has contributed to the firm’s reputation.
Astaé is behind several rulings handed down by the Court of Cassation on this issue, as well as on the obligation of employers to ensure the safety of their staff.
