The logic of post-expatriation reintegration
When the assignment abroad ends, either at the end of the normal term or early, the expatriate manager’s career generally continues within the original company (in France) or, in any case, within the same group.
French law provides for an obligation to repatriate and reintegrate expatriates. However, it is not uncommon for reintegration in France not to have been anticipated and for no serious offer of reintegration to be made, or even for the expatriate to be demoted or sidelined upon their return.
