Calcul de l’indemnité de licenciement – English

These pages enable you to calculate the severance pay that must be paid:

  • upon termination of the employment contract
  • in the event of mutual termination
  • in the event of dismissal for personal reasons
  • in the event of redundancy
  • in the event of incapacity declared by the occupational physician following an accident at work or an occupational illness
  • in the event of incapacity not related to working conditions.

They also enable individuals who disagree with a dismissal for misconduct to calculate the amount of severance pay they believe they have been deprived of.

They also enable you to compare the amount of severance pay provided for in the collective agreement with the statutory severance pay.

Since the change in the method of calculating statutory severance pay, the latter has sometimes proved to be more advantageous for the employee.

In this case, the employer must apply the solution most favorable to the employee.

Once the required documents have been gathered (length of service on the date of dismissal, average monthly remuneration, etc.), the calculation can be made in less than five minutes.

Documents to be gathered for the calculation of severance pay:

  • The last 12 pay slips, to calculate the average reference remuneration
  • In the event of dismissal during the month, take the last 12 full months
